    All About The School

The purpose of the school is not only to impart instruction but also to educate the whole boy: to train his intellectual, moral, emotional, physical and aesthetic faculties.

    Academic Overview

    Pre-Primary Section
GBPS has an Early Childhood Education (ECE) program for children between the age of 2 years 9 months and 5 years 8 months.

The entire ECE curriculum focuses on the all-round development of the child with an emphasis on the learning of languages, gross and fine motor skills and skills required to prepare them for formal academics.

Through this programme, children learn to:
    1) Be independent.
    2) Give, share and receive affection.
    3) Make choices and decisions. 4) Get along with others. 5) Be disciplined.
    Personality Development Program
This program is conducted once a week for classes I to X. It involves activities and discussions designed to encourage children to interact freely on a topic or to address specific concerns. Through this programme, students learn to appreciate perspectives other than their own, develop critical thinking and decision-making skills.
    Co-curricular Activities
Apart from academics, co-curricular activities such as Art, Craft, Yoga, Computer technology, Scouts and Guides, Music and Physical Education play a vital role in the holistic development of a child. These activities are therefore a part of the curriculum in GBPS.
    Extra Curricular Activities
Students are given opportunities to learn and pursue a number of activities in GBPS. The table below details the some of the activities offered.
Skating, Games, Global Awareness Programme, Vocal Music, Tabla, Folk Dance, Board Games, and German etc.

    1) The list of activities offered is liable to change each year, depending on the availability of the teaching professional.
    2) If the students opt for this facility, they are encouraged to pursue an activity of their choice for a minimum of two years.
    Academic Assessments
The assessment process at GBPS is designed to provide feedback to teachers, students and parents about the effectiveness of the teaching methodology. The purpose is to identify specific learning needs and modify the teaching strategies to meet these needs.

For pre-primary students, the assessment involves monitoring and keeping a record of relevant milestones such as development of gross motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

For primary and secondary students, all class-work and home-work assignments, projects and participation in co-curricular activities are recorded and graded periodically. Formal testing procedures are followed only for Std.VI to Std.X. The test schedules are notified to parents through the students' diary ten days prior to the test. A minimum of forty percent is required to pass each test. Students using unfair means during tests will be debarred from the examination and would have to face disciplinary action.
