Dr. Rakesh Popli and Mrs. Rama Popli initiated the education work in Bishunpur, Gumla Dist, Jharkhand (a tiny village in the tribal belt).

Opening of Kisalaya Vidya Mandir in the campus of BIT, Mesra, Ranchi in 1988. It served as a lab where the vision of Dr. Rakesh Popli was reshaped for the formal education system.
